High potassium levels in blood is called as Hyperkalemia. It can be caused mainly due to altered kidney function or massive cell destruction in body. To reduce potassium in blood, immediate treatments may include administration of drugs like calcium, glucose and insulin, through veins. Other than this, some diet restrictions and diuretics like spirolactone may help to make them normal. Diet changes will include: 1.Avoid or limit potatoes, tomatoes, cooked spinach, raw carrots, beet broccoli, beans etc. 2.
