Here are some of the tips for you to keep a control on the disease- Eating better, maintaining (or losing) weight, exercising are the key medicines for you. If you follow the trilogy, there is no need to worry about your health at all. Cut your excess salt intake, if any. You should cut down on saturated fat -- found in fatty meats and whole milk dairy products like cheese, ice cream, and butter. Insted of them, you can have fatty fish like tuna and salmon, walnuts, and almonds. The most concentrated sources of cholesterol include organ meats, egg yolks and whole milk products. Use lean cuts of meat, egg substitutes and skim milk instead. Choose whole-grain breads, whole-wheat pasta, whole-wheat flour and brown rice, oatmeal and oat bran. Fruits and vegetables are rich in dietary fiber, which can help lower cholesterol. Go for regular exercise at least 30 to 45 minutes a day.
