Q Why do pregnant women need to urinate so much?
Increased frequency of urination is one of the early sign of pregnancy and you can observe it from 6 weeks or beforehand during pregnancy. This is due to hormonal changes making your blood rush through kidney, filling your bladder more often. Later as the baby grows in womb, more pressure is being exerted on the bladder, as a result of which there is an increased desire to pass urine. You may also find yourself urinating more at the night time. But at the same time you should be cautious for the symptoms along with frequent visit to toilet, like burning pain, fever, backache or pain in abdomen. It can indicates urine infection, for which medical care is needed.
