Risk factors for heart disease can be ones that we can control and ones that are not in our hand. Factors that can be controlled include: Smoking, high blood pressure, high blood sugar levels, high cholesterol levels, unhealthy diet, no physcial activity, obesity, excessive stress. Factors that are not in our hand: Family history, male gender, older age, post menopausal and race to which you belong - high risk in african and asian race.
