Q Im a type-1 diabetic. I kind of have a heavy cardio workout schedule so i eat a bit too many fruits during the day for a diabetic. Sometimes i eat 2 bananas or 2 guavas or apples or some grapes. Also during festivities i eat some sweets thinking id burn them out during workout. But sometimes i cannot go on a workout the same day and it gets postponed a day or two. My stomach starts hurting and bum starts itching and i cant sleep well the night. Is it a serious complication? Am i losing my kidneys?
Taking much quantity of sugar than advised in a day may cause you harm. To answer your concern about kidneys, these contain millions of tiny blood vessel clusters that filter waste from your blood. If the blood sugar level is not maintained in diabetes; can damage this delicate filtering system. Excess sugar can injure the walls of the tiny blood vessels (capillaries) that nourish your nerves, especially in the legs. This can cause tingling, numbness, burning or pain in abdomen. So kinldy follow the workout schedule if you use to take sugar content in more quantity. Monitoring blood glucose levels at some interval will give you good idea about your blood sugar. Consultation with a dietician will be helpful.
