Q What are the symptoms of acute hepatitis B infection?
Acute infection with Hepatitis B can occur with limited to no symptoms to symptoms such as general ill-health, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, body ache, mild fever, dark urine and then progress to jaundice. Patient may also complain of itchy skin. The symptoms last for few weeks and then resolves in most affected people. In some people it may be more severe causing fulminant hepatic failure and the person may die as a result.
