Q My problem is indigestion and eructations with tightness in abdomen
There are many reasons of indigestion - Stress, anxiety, diet error, long sitting, lack of exercise, alcohol, Smoking, constipation, gas-promoting foods, milk &dairy products, soft drinks,candies etc. Firstly it is necessary to find out the cause that might be applicable for you, and try to correct it. Here are some general guidelines to get rid from frequent gas trouble:- 1. Avoid dairy products. 2. Avoid swallowing too much air, eating chewing gum or hard candy. Eating food slowly and chewing it thoroughly will aid good digestion. Do not hurry while eating. 3. Avoid overeating and high fat content foods. 4. For regular bowel movements and avoid constipation take dietary fibre & plenty of water. 5. Intake of full glass of warm water first in the morning helps to relieve constipation. 5. Avoid or limit gas-promoting foods such as beans, cabbage, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, onions, cauliflower, whole wheat flour, radishes, bananas, apricots, pretzels, etc. 6. Chew 1 tbsp Fennel seeds (saunf) after meals to avoid gas and bloating 7. Chew on some fresh ginger slices soaked in lime juice after meals. 8. Being physically active will promote good bowel movements, will stimulate appetite and will aid good digestion. Daily exercise is recommended for this.
