Q How human personality traits have an effect on stress?
Almost everybody experiences stress at some point of time. It is one of lifes integral experiences which boosts productivity, survival and performance. Some amount of stress is healthy, but excessive stress, left untreated, can lead to anxiety and illness. Different people react to same stress in different ways, in accordance with their personality. For e.g. on being scolded/punished, an aggressive child might throw tantrums, a mild child may start crying whereas a stubborn child may not speak to his parents for long. In the same way, a bold and confident man when fired may take this opportunity to start his own business. Whereas a timid man might stop looking for a new job and go into depression. Umpteen examples can be quoted which demonstrate the variations in the response to stress brought about by differing personality traits.
