Q I am a case of ankylosing spondylitis(as) and hypertension(ht). I have taken infliximab and etarnacept for as, and i am on amlodipine + metoprolol for ht. My problem is that i was a regular drinker for almost 20 years, but since aug 2007 i am unable to drink even a sip of alcohol, on drinking i start getting severe bloating, giddiness, flushing of my face, palpitation and increased sleepiness. Well please help as i want to enjoy a couple of drinks with my family and friends in the evening at least on weekends. When i was on alcohol i had a good sexual performance but now i am also getting premature ejaculation, due to this my married life is also suffering. Please note i was not a heavy drinker any day. Please reply and tell me what to do so that i can enjoy a couple of drinks. I have tried taking ranitidine, omeprazole, pantoprazole and vitamin b complex. My lft is normal. Sometimes after aug 2007 i have had good drink with no problem but most of the times i had problem.
Prolonged use of some medicines causes peptic ulcers. It can be the reason for rejection of alcohol and symptoms like bloating of abdomen and I think instead of trying medicines by own better consult some good gastroenterologist for further investigation. I can advise you for your premature ejaculation: Spend enough time in foreplay, do not bring stress to bed as it affects the performance, practice kegal exercise in which you have to do repeated contraction and relaxation of pelvic muscle ( the muscle that you use to hold urination) 20 times in one sitting and do it 3 to 4 times a day, practice stop and start method in which you have to hold the ejaculation when at verge and divert your mind than restart again which will prolong your sex time, do not hurry do it slow and gently. Work on your general health.
