Q Hi, my sister is 19 and her weight is about 55 kg. She is diagnosed with H.pylori associated moderate gastritis and mild duodenitis and stomach swelling in report of endoscopy. Doctor gives her amoxycillin, tinidazole and omeprazole. But doctor went out of country for some days and he advised us another doctor if she has problem. She had increased nausea, upper and middle abdominal pain, constant leg pain, headache. So we went to another doctor and he said that you are taking wrong medicine and he gave rabeprazole, domperidone, sucralfate and medicine for headache and he said that amoxycillin, tinidazole should only be taken after gastritis are cured. After taking medicine she feels good but from last 2 days she has middle and upper abdominal pain, leg pain and headache. Her symptoms increased because of stress. Are these symptoms are because of gastritis and duodenitis? And now what should we do?
Yes. It can be consider that her symptoms are due to gastritis and duodenitis. You should continue with her current medicines. Ask her not to take undue stress. Some tips may help to resolve her gastritis more faster: 1. Eat frequent small meals. 2. Avoid food causing gastric irritation like fatty, spicy, acidic, fried food. 3. Managing stress effectively will be helpful. 4. Avoid smoking and alcohol. 5. Avoid drugs like NSAIDs that may irritate stomach further.rnrn
