Anxiety is a psychological abnormality. It can lead to nervousness, fear, apprehension, and worrying. Anxiety is considered a problem when symptoms interfere with a persons ability to sleep or his function. There are many types of anxiety disorders like panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, social anxiety disorder, specific phobias, and generalized anxiety disorder. The general symptoms include: Feelings of panic, fear, and uneasiness, obsessive thoughts, nightmares, sleeping problem, cold or sweaty hands and feet, shortness of breath, palpitations, dry mouth, nausea, muscle tension and dizziness etc. The treatment consists of a combination of psychotherapy, behavioral therapy, and medications. There are different preventive measures to reduce your risk and methods to control or lessen symptoms like- Exercising regularly for about 30-45 min a day. One must eat healthy foods. Keep a regular sleep pattern, so that your mind will be refreshed. Avoiding alcohol and smoking which are aggravating the symptoms.
