If you have to spend long hours sitting in front of a computer, it is obvious to get an Eyestrain due to computer screen. If you are suffering from burning eyes, you can get prescription from an ophthalmologist to reduce the burning. But the important thing is to cautious while using the computer, and adopt preventive measures for eyestrain.Here are some preventive measures to avoid this kind strain: 1. Avoid working in overly bright rooms or reduce the ambient light and make it less brighter. Turn off overhead fluorescent lights. Instead use floor lamps. 2. Use anti-glare screen on your monitor or computer screen, which will check the reflexion on your computer screen. Or use anti-glare glasses while working on computer. 3. Select a larger, LCD screens rather than CRT screen of a computer. This will reduce the eyestrain. 4. Adjust the display settings according to comfort to your eyes. Use screen brightness nearer to light in your surroundings, adjust text font and size according to your ease, adjust color temperature to longer wavelength colors, like orange or red. 5. Keep your eyes well moistened by blinking often. Often you tend to blink less while working on computer. This leave your eyes dry and increase irritation and burning. Try to blink more often. 6. Some eye exercises like 20-20-20 formula will help to relax your eyes. For this, you have to gaze at any distant object(at least 20 feet away) for 20 seconds, after every 20 minute. This relaxes your muscle used to focus on computer screen. 7. Take regular work breaks rather than looking at screen for hours. Adopt correct posture while sitting in front of computer.
