Q My baby is 15 months old. She hardly takes any meals and does not drink water at all and she is on formula milk. Not sure if formula milk is good for her or the fresh milk? And let me know how can i make her have regular meals?
Babys grow up fast these days: walking, talking a little, starts using spoon for eating etc. This is because he/she is more interested in activities that he/she is learning rather than boring process of eating. As a mothers one need to be smart enough to understand childs interests and requirements: offer the things in an attractive manner, give few more options, make variety of diet, understand his/her taste and mood and then offer accordingly. 15 months old baby can have same food as you eat provided its healthy!! Never choose an easy options of junk food. Formula milk is good but now is the time when you can start introducing out-side milk also, do not suddenly stop the formula milk. You can start with replacing one or two portion(s) of formula milk by fresh milk and then proceed according to the response. You can offer different healthy food options at interval of every 3 to 4 hours like vegetable paratha, curd, cheese sticks, flavoured yogurt, wheat bread sandwich, etc. Concentrate on healthy development of baby as he/she is in the learning process and growing fast. If your tot is too busy — or full — to eat much at mealtime, healthy snacks options like wheat cookies, vegetable cutlets, salad etc. help toddlers get the nutrients they need to grow.
