Q I am 34 year old male, my blood pressure is borderline, diagnosed prediabetic, living a sedentary and non healthy lifestyle, over weight. My BMI is 26.4 I started taking glucophage to prevent diabetes but not aware about its exact dose. I eat breakfast , no lunch and good dinner every night. Can you suggest something for me?
The key to preventing the onset of diabetes lies not in medication but in your lifestyle. In spite of having a huge risk of developing diabetes, you are still leading an extremely unhealthy lifestyle. Start with diet correction. Make sure you have a good nutritious breakfast every single day. Skipping lunch is not an option. Having a good lunch daily will keep you full throughout the day and prevent you from having heavy dinners. If you have a sedentary job, then exercising for atleast 5 days a week is a must. You will have to consult your physician to prescribe you appropriate medicine. However, please note that in presence of a skewed diet and no exercise, no medication will be able to help you much.
