Q I have a "whoosh" sound in my right ear immediately following a loud noise or if i rub that ear. Headaches, which range from a feeling of pressure or sharp pains in the temples. I should add i am otherwise healthy and have never suffered with health issues, ideal weight, dont drink, dont smoke, dont use drugs. I have done mri of brain and ears which came back normal for ears but there is a 12mm pineal cyst.
The whoosh sound that you describe is called as tinnitus. In most cases pineal cyst of less than 0.5 cm is commonly seen when MRI is done. Such small pineal cyst do not produce any symptoms. However large pineal cyst as in your cases can produce symptoms. Headache is the main symptom that is associated with large pineal cyst. I think the cause behind your tinnitus is disorders related to inner ear, middle ear or outer ear. I would recommend that you consult an ENT specialist for further management.
