Q Hi doc, my name is Synn, I am a female and currently 28 years old. I am suffering from a back pain since February and I have been consulting a general doctor. He said it is a common backache without any disc slip symptoms, hence I consulted another doctor. Even he said it is because of the tight ligament and claimed that the ache will go away in sometime. However I dont see any results of recovering. I have been doing exercises, yoga and even went for massage. Please help me. Thank you
Since you dont have any pathology or any structural cause behind your backache, it may be due to some muscular pull or due to tight ligaments. Such pain should go off gradually with proper yoga and exercises, which you are already doing. According to your age and gender, we think that this can be due to wrong body postures or long sitting or standing work, excessive mental stress, lack of physical activities, obesity or mental depression and anxiety etc. In females, any inflammation in the reproductive organs also cause backache as a symptom. Please find out if anything is applicable for you. You can take help of an orthopedic physician to evaluate the reason for your backache. You should continue with the yoga and exercises. But make sure that you are doing it correctly or under supervision of a trainer. As wrongly done yoga and exercises may worsen the problem. Always adopt correct posture. Always sit, walk and stand straight. Some people get backache due to wrong kinds of mattresses. You can try changing it. You can try hot fomentation to sooth your back. Do take massages regularly, they will help you achieve pain relief.
