Q Doctor , i was diagnoised with borderline hypertension 140/90 , my doctor prescribed amlodopine 5mg /day , i aslo take 10mg bupropion for anxiety , the amlodopine brought down my bp to normal levels , but i was urinating very frequently , so i cut down the dose to 2.5mg , and i take it in the evening , the bp is still normal but the excessive urination si still there although much less compared to 5mg dose , my query is this ok , normal or should i switch to another medicine , or is there any way to control this excessive urination caused by amlodopine
Single amlodipine has no effect on urination untill and unless you are taking some diuretic alongwith it. Consult your doctor to rule out other causes of frequent urination like Urinary tract infection, Anxiety, Uncontrolled diabetes, Benign prostratic hypertrophy (in males), Excessive drinking of water. Do make any change in your medication without informing your doctor.
