Q Im 30 year old man. I get pain on my right upper abdomen & thr is swelling as well. Dr says its due to muscle pull & prescribed me medicine for 1 week, i was better aftr tht for 15 days. Now thr is swelling n pain again. Pls prescribe test which i should take? Is thr any liver or kidney stone prob or jus muscle pull?
The problem may be related with muscle spasm or stiffness. The cotraction in muscle may cause pain at right side of abdomen. Such spasm if relieved with medication may get symptoms again. Kidney and bladder symptoms are present in lower abdomen usually. So the pain may not be related with urinary system. If other complaints related with digestion are present it may be related with pathologies of liver, gall bladder, pancreas and intestine. But as the swelling is reduced with medication there is more space for diagnosis of muscular strain or rib fracture. This should be consulted with an orthopedic doctor by USG and X-ray examinations.
