Q I become a stone patient yesterday as my doctor said after observing the sonography. But in sonography the stone in not visualized because doctor said that it is very small and due to bowled gas it is not visualized. Am I a stone patient? If yes then please recommend some diet which I can take and which I have to avoid. Thank you
Without seeing sonography or knowing your symptoms it is not possible to say whether you have kidney stone or not. However, the doctor may have diagnosed it on clinical grounds. You must drink plenty of water to flush out the stone. Foods to avoid are red meat (beef, pork, and mutton), spinach, tea, coffee, rhubarb, beets, star fruit, peanuts, almonds, black tea, soybeans and tofu. Additionally, different kinds of stones (calcium oxalate, uric acid etc) have different dietary guidelines; but since your stone has not been visualised, it wont be possible to do that. Please remember that a stone less than 7mm in size can easily be flushed out without any surgical intervention.
